Funeral services will be held for Anna Louise Gage, 95, of Lindsay, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2012, in the First Baptist Church in Lindsay, Oklahoma.
Anna Louise Gage was born on April 7, 1917, in Ninnekah, Oklahoma, to Sterling Johnston and Kathryn Izora Bearden Johnston. She died on Friday, April 27, 2012, in Lindsay.
Anna grew up on the family farm in Ninnekah and graduated from Ninnekah High School in 1934. Shortly after graduating, she married John Eugene Gage on June 23, 1934, in Chickasha.
Anna and John started farming and raising a family. They ran a dairy farm for over 30 years. Church was very important to her and she was very active teaching Sunday School and helping with activities. Anna was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Alex for over 50 years and has been a member of the First Baptist Church in Lindsay since 1997.
She was preceded in death by: both parents; husband, John Eugene Gage in December 1996; two brothers; five sisters; and one grandson, Rodney Marcum.
Survivors include: one daughter, Kathy Marcum & husband Al of Lindsay; two sons, Buddy Gage & wife Kay of Alex and David Gage & wife Carron of Chickasha; one brother, Jodie Johnston & wife Teka of Moore; five grandchildren, Roy Marcum, Dwight Marcum, Dewayne Marcum, Jeremy Gage and Anji Langley; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in the Alex Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
