Anita Lee Rumley

d. August 14, 2020

Funeral services for Anita Lee Rumley, 61, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2020 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Alice Wendling officiating.

Anita Lee (Graves) Rumley made her way into this world on March 5, 1959 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the daughter of Leroy E. Graves and Ollie Mae (Weaver) Graves. She gained her angel wings on Friday, August 14, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Anita grew up in Verden and graduated from Verden High School.

On March 5, 1976, she married Terry Eugene Rumley at the Verden Pentecostal Church and they made a life in Verden, where they raised their three strong beautiful children, Dustin, Freeman and Wyndi. Anita and Terry were married for 43 years and had a love like no other. Through the thickest and thinnest of times their love was unwavering. They spent the majority of their lives together, enjoying times that most only dream of.

Her children were her heart. Her boys were her heroes and her daughter was her best friend. Anita loved being “Momma” and was the best mom to her children and to the number of “children” she gained over the years. She was the epitome of true and selfless love. Her family was her pride and joy and came before all. Her favorite times were those with her family and friends. If you were her friend, then you were her family.

Anita worked all of her life in nursing care, first as a CNA then moving up to Restorative Therapist, CMA, Supervisor of Housekeeping and most recently as the head cook at Shanoan Springs Nursing Center. Over the years, she attended church at the Verden Pentecostal Church and the Full Gospel Church in Chickasha.

She was the most treasured person to a special few, her grandchildren. The intense love she had for her babies was overwhelming and never doubted by any. She never missed a chance to show them what they meant to her and how proud they had made her as they grew.

Anita loved to host holiday parties in the summer with her daughter. At these gatherings, she and Wyndi would go to every effort to make everyone feel welcomed and loved. She never knew a stranger.

She left this world to join her husband, Terry who passed in 2019. She was also preceded in death by both parents, Leroy and Ollie Mae Graves; mother, Betty Lou James; brother, Wayne Parham; and a former son-in-law, Richard Kolb II.

Anita is survived and will be greatly missed by her special friend, Rick Williamson; sons and daughters-in-law, Dustin and Kim Rumley of Cement and Freeman and Megan Rumley of Wagoner; daughter and son-in-law, Wyndi and Bradley Caraker of Chickasha; adopted daughter, Keturah Lee of Chickasha; brothers, Dean Johnston and Joe Parham and his wife, Diane; sister Margaret Sue Cooper; grandchildren, Dezi Rumley, Hannah Rumley, Jacob Rumley, Freeman Rumley, Terry Dale Rumley, Jordan Rumley, Kameron Caraker, Kaden Caraker, Atley Caraker, Blake Hill, Brooklyn Hill and Morgan Grigg; great-grandsons, Oliver David Rumley, Bentley, Bryson and Braylyn; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.

Anita wished to be cremated following the services.
