Funeral services will be held for Adam Gaylord Brooking, 33, of Chickasha at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2012, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha.
Adam Gaylord Brooking passed from this life on February 4, 2012. He was born in Tulsa, OK, on November 3, 1978, Adam moved with his family to Chickasha in 1980.
Adam was fortunate to have spent two of his middle school years in Alaska where he excelled in sports and academics, as he did when he returned to his native Chickasha to attend high school. During high school he was active on the football team starting as center. Adam was named to the All-State team and Oil Bowl All-Star Team in his senior year. He went on to OU where he studied meteorology. He had a career in restaurant management.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, V.L. and Della Brooking of Seminole and maternal grandparents, Ralph and Edith McClaskey of Maud, OK.
He is survived by his son, Hunter of Chickasha; daughters Brynn of Norman and Kennadi of Fort Worth, TX; father, Doyle G. Brooking of Shawnee; mother, Rita A. McClaskey of Chickasha; sister and brother-in-law, Nikki Jones Edwards and Marc Edwards of Oklahoma City; sister, Audrey Brooking of Vernal, Utah; and brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Ricia Brooking of Shawnee. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
Adam had a brilliant smile, listening ear and generous heart which endeared him to his many friends. He loved his children and family and enjoyed football and music.
Services and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
